Here's looking at you, kid [for Lara, Riley, Val]

As Lara had promised Bach, she had asked Riley and Valeria for their opinion on whatever had happened to him. After putting some thought into finding some time in their busy schedules (except for Bach, of course), they all managed to meet up at Lara's place today, just after lunch.

"You're saying that god is real?"

[asharpertongue]

"Not at all. I'm saying that...Nevermind." She sighs.

[bachjones]

"Now what?" He took the last sandwich. "I mean, thanks for all this. I guess."

[asharpertongue]

"You're welcome." She waved at the sisters setting out their things. "Now we let the girls do their job."

[bachjones]

"Valeria is the youngest, right? She seems a bit ..angry."

[asharpertongue]

"Not angry. Protective." Lara smiled.

[bachjones]

"But I didn't even do anything yet, I'm just sitting here."

[asharpertongue]

"Not because of you. Just in general. That's her default state."

[bachjones]

"Oh. Aha. Well, I guess that's better, right?" He smiles. "People still like me."

[asharpertongue]

She smiles. "Exactly. You're a good guy, Bach. Let them help you."

[bachjones]

"What? I'm a good guy? Ha, okay." He looks at the half empty sandwich platter. "Do you have more food, maybe something I can take home?"

[asharpertongue]

She snorts a laugh and points at the bags the girls had brought with them. "There's vegetables and fruit in there. Take them home with you."

[bachjones]

"Vegetables I can eat raw? Because hey, you know .."

[asharpertongue]

"You and me both. They know my habits and they give me mstly salad vegetables."

[bachjones]

He licks his lips. "We should start having dinner together. Especially as long as Cinderella won't look at me."

[asharpertongue]

She laughed and smiled at him kindly. "You say that now but when you get your powers back you'll want nothing more to do with me. Again."

[bachjones]

"Because I'll be too busy drugging people with my singing." He nodded. "That's true. You're just my replacement of Cinderella right now. Although she lashes out less often. Or is just more used to me."

[asharpertongue]

She rolled her eyes. "Still - after all this - you don't just want to learn about yourself? Figure out how to use your powers properly? Control them?" Waving a hand she shook her head. "Don't answer that. I already know the answer."

[bachjones]

"Looks like you're learning something while I don't", he winks. "This stuff had just gotten from bad to worse, Lar- miss Quinn. Would you want to know more about the stuff screwing with your life?"

[asharpertongue]

"So you can control it. Stop it from happening.. None of this would have happened if you'd just accept what you are and learn how to handle it."

[bachjones]

"I thought this was outside my fault. Like something I couldn't have done. So how am I going to learn to control something I didn't do in the first place? Be calm without thinking about Riley? Because I don't know if I can do that."

[asharpertongue]

"This isn't your fault, no. But if you had better control - or any control at all - it wouldn't have happened because you could control your change."

[bachjones]

"You really love control in every possible way." He tilts his head. "Almost every possible way."

[asharpertongue]

"I love control when it helps people. It can help you. You'll never have to wonder if someone likes you for you or because you've persuaded them to. You'll be able to perform again without any blocks." She shrugged. "It can help, if you try."

[bachjones]

"I need to be helped. Poor little guitar boy. And you keep saying that like it's something I care about. It's only the music that I miss right now. It's just not fair."
